Eligibility:           Residents of long-term care facilities

Services:           

·      Provides information to consumers who are making decisions about long-term care, including

o     A list of homes and the services they offer

o     What to look for when touring a home

o     Basic information on financing long-term care

o     How to access inspection results

·      Investigates complaints made by or on behalf of residents of care homes

·      Facilitates communication between nursing home staff and residents or their families

·      Recruits and trains volunteer ombudsmen who provide weekly visitation in nursing homes.  With permission from the resident, the ombudsman takes concerns to the administration and works to resolve complaints.
